California Costumes Boys' Sea Scoundrel: Key Details
The California Costumes Boys' Sea Scoundrel is currently on sale at Amazon for $16.49, down from its regular price of $33.37—a 51% discount that brings this boys' pirate costume well under $20. Sold directly by Amazon, the Sea Scoundrel is designed for Halloween, costume parties, themed events, and imaginative play.
- Sale price: $16.49 (regularly $33.37)
- Sold by Amazon
- Designed for boys
- Pirate-themed costume
The costume currently has a 4.5 out of 5 rating based on two customer reviews, which is too small a sample to establish consistent quality or durability expectations. Before purchasing, verify the size chart, included pieces, materials, and delivery timing directly on the Amazon listing.
Why This Deal Stands Out
At $16.49, this costume represents a significant savings opportunity for parents shopping Halloween costumes or building a dress-up collection. The 51% discount drops the price to less than half the regular cost, freeing up budget for other Halloween expenses like candy, decorations, or additional costume accessories.
Early costume shopping also helps avoid the seasonal price increases and inventory shortages that typically hit in mid-to-late October. Costume availability can fluctuate during peak Halloween season, so locking in a sub-$20 pirate costume now offers both financial and logistical advantages.
Amazon's return policy provides a safety net if the costume doesn't meet expectations, which is particularly valuable given the limited review data available for this specific product.
What to Know Before You Buy
Because this costume has only two customer reviews, there isn't enough data to confirm consistent sizing, material quality, or durability across multiple purchases. Before adding to cart, take these steps:
Verify the listing details: Confirm exactly which pieces are included (shirt, pants, vest, hat, accessories) by reviewing the product images and description on the Amazon page. Costume bundles can vary, and it's important to know whether you'll need to purchase additional accessories separately.
Check the size chart: Child costume sizing is typically based on age ranges, height, and chest measurements. Compare your child's measurements to Amazon's size chart to select the best fit.
Review material information: Most costume-grade garments use polyester or similar synthetic fabrics designed for seasonal wear rather than everyday durability. These materials may feel thin compared to regular clothing and can be warm during extended wear.
Confirm delivery timing: If you're shopping close to your event date, verify the estimated delivery window and check whether the item is Prime-eligible for faster shipping.
Who Should Consider This Costume
This deal makes the most sense for parents and caregivers looking to save money on Halloween costumes or dress-up items without sacrificing a classic, recognizable theme. At $16.49, the Sea Scoundrel offers strong value for:
- Families shopping early for Halloween and willing to accept limited review data in exchange for significant savings
- Parents building a dress-up collection for imaginative play throughout the year
- Shoppers attending pirate-themed birthday parties or school events who need a costume for a single occasion
- Buyers comfortable with Amazon's return process if the costume doesn't meet expectations
Given the minimal review sample, this purchase involves more uncertainty than a heavily reviewed product. However, the steep discount and Amazon's seller protections reduce financial risk. If your child needs a pirate costume and you're willing to verify sizing and contents before the event, this 51% discount represents a worthwhile opportunity to save half the regular cost.
